EBA update
Release 4.2
Release 4.2 was published in January with all modules updated.
Following the request from ECB, an additional version (4.2.1) was published end of February with only FINREP DP.
Several issues have been discovered in the 4.2 modules (e.g. Resolution). A document is being created describing them, propose solutions (to be implemented in future releases) and suggest workaround for the meantime.
Expected in the coming weeks.
Release 4.3
EBA is currently working on release 4.3 containing two new modules: Third Country Branches (TCB) and AMLA.
TCB is about reporting on undertakings of which the head is out of EU.
AMLA modules will be created to help the AMLA authority. First ref. date is December 20206.
A 4.3 draft is expected in April, final version in June.
Release 4.4
4.4 phase 1 is mainly to address the technical issues that we discovered in 4.2. First reference date is probably December 2026.
It will also contain an update for FINREP implementing IFRS 18 that applies from 31.03.2027.
4.4 phase 2 will address a lot of ITS changes coming from simplification. Plan is still in development. First reference data for 4.4.p2 is probably September 2027

ESMA update
Amendments to SFRTS were published last week in Official Journal of the EU.
ESMA will publish soon the XBRL parts and the conformance suite. ESMA expects that it will be used more for 2026 data because for 2025 data it will be quite late.
IASB will not change its taxonomy this year; 2025 version remains in place.
EIOPA update

Also, ECB addons will be as from Q1-2027.

EIOPA is working on a new version: 2.11.
PWD aim is early June, which starts a 4-week public consultation period.
Final version at the end of July.
Other news
EIOPA is looking at a new way of handling tolerances.
NACE2.1 will be fully enabled in 2.10 taxonomy. The old classifications will no longer be available as from then. (“hard switch”)
For IORPS, PEPP and FICOD it will only be applied from reference date December 2027.
As always hotfixes might come in October/November to address issues identified after the final release is published.
Sustainability
ESRS is being revised by the European Commission. A publication is expected in June.
EFRAG will start working on a new taxonomy following that publication, and it’s only after that new version that ESMA will start picking up the taxonomy for inclusion in the packages.
